Scottish architect, Crichton Wood, embarked on a journey that began with a deep-rooted family connection to architecture and a passion that was ignited at Dundee University.

Crichton's architectural journey was paved by the influence of his beloved grandfather, Frank, a talented architect & Dux at Edinburgh College of Art, who was renowned for his historical knowledge

and exemplar practice standards.

From a young age, Crichton would watch in awe as his grandfather explored design solutions sketching with paper and pencil, each one a unique piece of artistry. It was during these formative years that Crichton discovered his own calling, a passion for architecture that would shape the course of his life.

Crichton's academic pursuit of architecture led him to Dundee University. Here, Crichton honed his skills and developed a keen eye for design, all the while embracing the rich architectural history that Scotland has to offer. At Dundee, Crichton excelled winning the Ovi Arup Award, Dundee Prize for civic architecture and the prestigious Scottish Education departments travelling scholarship.

On graduating with a first class honours degree, Crichton was then invited to and taught at Strathclyde and Dundee Universities and has been a guest lecturer at Edinburgh University.

Crichton continues to widely lecture to academic and civic institutions through out Scotland. He has also served on the councils of the Edinburgh Architects Association

the Royal incorporation of Architects in Scotland, Scottish Arts Club, where he was elected hononary architect and Cases panel of the AHSS.

His work has been published widely & exhibited at the Royal Scottish Academy, Royal Incorporation Of Architects in Scotland and the Scottish Arts Club.

Crichton draws inspiration from the grandeur and majesty of Scottish castles. Having visited almost every single castle in Scotland. The towering spires, the rugged stone walls, and the intricate details of these architectural marvels have left an indelible mark on Crichton's design philosophy. He firmly believes that the essence of Scotland's past can be seamlessly woven into contemporary architectural marvels, creating spaces that are both functional yet awe-inspiring.
